Sheila and Brooke first met as young girls in ballet class: Their hair pulled back into tight buns, wearing pink tights and black leotards, crushing rosin with their pointe shoes and performing pirouettes and grande jetes across the floor to the sound of Chopin. Within a year, both girls were attending the Palm Beach County School of the Arts (now known as Dreyfoos School of the Arts), dancing, singing, and, in Sheila’s case photographing and drawing, their way through school. Their school experience was certainly unique; in fact, they’re still close with many of their former classmates! Sheila moved over from studying dance into the visual arts department while still in high school, while Brooke expanded into music and theatre.
After they graduated, Sheila studied graphic design and fine art in college before relocating to California to work in marketing and advertising while raising her family. Brooke eventually moved for the U.S. Navy while raising her own children, and studied history and economics while working as a professional military musician. While they lost touch for a while, their friendship stayed intact.
In 2014, both Sheila and Brooke had coincidentally moved back to Palm Beach. Life had happened, and now they were both mothers and career women. It was by complete happenstance that Brooke reached out to Sheila for her design expertise on a marketing project for her company, and they immediately began working together… just like old times! Both Sheila and Brooke have had a love affair with the arts, and that love continued into their professional careers as adults. Sheila’s eye for design combined with Brooke’s sense of organization just made sense. Working together after almost thirty years of friendship seemed like a natural fit. Together, along with inspiration from their daughters Madyson and Alexandra Paige (see what they did, there?), they created Madyson Paige, LLC.
